Installation

The smart servo-drive must first be installed behind every drawer. It must be mounted inside the drawer cabinet.

Main unit can be installed behind or under the cabinet.  The microphone should be located in an accessible spot.

Download the
SmartFurniture app and connect to the device.

As part of the SmartFurniture application set up sequence you will be asked to take a photo of the contents of each smart drawer.

The application will help you recognize all tools and materials, naming them.

You can edit the names, the voice tag, and the location of each item.

Say the name of the item or material you are looking for. Voximo will find the drawer it is located in and open it immediately.

Voximo is self-learning and will adjust to the person's voice over time, making it more efficient and smarter.

The drawer requires a light push to be closed. Once the automatic soft-close mechanism engages it will finish closing the drawer.

APP SETUP AND INVENTORY PROCESS

  1. The user presses the “Open Drawer”
    button in the app to inventory any drawer.

  2. The corresponding drawer opens.

  3. Using the smartphone camera, the user
    takes a picture of the contents of the drawer.

  4. The application recognizes 99% of its contents and suggests names for them. The user either approves the suggested name or adds the correct item name. This step is critical because the names used in this step will be processed by the SmartFurniture system to open drawers that contain a tool or material by that name.

  5. Additionally, you have creative control to tailor the contents of each drawer by adding tools and materials that were not identified automatically or by changing suggested names.

  6. The system is now ready for use.

  7. The user can add or remove drawer contents within the app anytime.

Download the SmartFurniture app, launch it, and connect to your CPU by finding it on the list of available Bluetooth devices.

Once connected, you can begin your drawer-by-drawer inventory, essentially telling the system in which drawer-specific tools and materials are located. The intelligent CPU system will open the correct drawer when it hears the user say a specific tool or material inventoried. For example, when the dentist says “Drill,” the drawer will check where the drill is located and open that drawer automatically (within 1 second).

CENTRAL PROCESSING UNIT (CPU)

The CPU or brain of the system—the Arduino UNO Rev3 microcontroller—must be mounted in a convenient location. All the servo-drives must be connected to the microcontroller using a CAT5 cable

PUSHING MECHANISMS

Servo drives inside the unit are located at the back of each drawer. The central unit sends a command to the mechanism, immediately opening a drawer

UNDER THE HOOD

  • The microphone remains on. When the system recognizes a word through speech recognition, the item is located in the database, and the CPU opens the corresponding drawer in 1 second. This process is illustrated below for greater detail.

  • To close the drawer, give it a light push. Once the automatic soft-close mechanism engages, it will finish closing the drawer automatically.

SPEECH RECOGNITION

Speech Recognition Technology is software that equips the CPU to recognize human speech and execute simple commands or algorithms of actions. This technology can create truly touch-free medical and dental products for ease of use, quick response, and the highest levels of cleanliness.

Speech is analyzed using the EasyVR shield and the EasyVR library. The EasyVR library implements a serial communication protocol to manage the EasyVR module and the EasyVR Shield from Arduino boards and compatible controllers, enabling quick access to all EasyVR features.

The system recognizes the user’s request and opens the drawer where that tool or material is located.
